HopgoodGanim Lawyers has announced the appointment of Kristen Kipps as a Partner in its Brisbane Construction practice.

Kristen commenced with the firm on 2 November, bringing more than 16 years’ experience across construction and major projects. Her appointment adds senior capability to the practice and expands the firm’s Construction offering across Brisbane and Perth.

“We are delighted to welcome Kristen to the HopgoodGanim team. She brings considerable experience across construction and major projects and will be an excellent addition to the firm,” Managing Partner Luke Mountford said.

Her appointment adds further depth to our Construction practice in Brisbane and builds on the expertise we already have in Perth.”

Kristen advises on both front-end and contentious construction matters, with experience spanning procurement, contract negotiation, project delivery, risk allocation, claims, variations, delay, defects and dispute resolution.

She acts for developers, principals and contractors across energy and renewables, residential and social infrastructure developments, and other major construction and infrastructure projects, drawing on experience across legal practice, project management and in-house legal experience.

“Kristen brings a valuable perspective on the commercial, operational and governance considerations that sit alongside the legal issues on major projects,” Luke said.

She understands the pressures facing project teams and will bring that perspective to our clients, particularly across our Real Estate and Development; Energy, Renewables and Mining; and Government sectors.”

Kristen will work alongside Perth Construction Partner Andrew Vinciullo, further connecting the firm’s Construction capability across the country.

“Kristen’s experience on both the contracting and disputes sides of construction complements our existing practice well, and I’m looking forward to having her as part of the team,” Andrew said.

Kristen will also work closely with the firm’s Property, Planning and Environment and Banking and Finance practices, providing clients with coordinated advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Her appointment follows the recent announcement of Michael Fredericks joining HopgoodGanim’s Intellectual Property, Technology and Cyber practice as a Consultant, another significant addition to the firm’s specialist capability.

“Kristen and Michael’s appointments reflect our continued investment in specialist expertise as our clients face increasingly complex challenges and require more sophisticated advice,” Luke said.

The appointments follow a strong year of senior hires for HopgoodGanim, reflecting the firm’s continued pursuit of legal and operational excellence.
