HopgoodGanim Lawyers has appointed experienced technology leader Andrew Wedding as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), reinforcing the firm's continued investment in technology, operational excellence and information security.

With extensive experience leading technology operations, transformation and service delivery across technology consulting and large-scale enterprises, Andrew will head the firm's technology function, overseeing infrastructure, operations, support and security to ensure HopgoodGanim continues to provide a reliable, secure and high-performing technology environment for its clients and people.

He will also lead the firm's continued adoption of AI and emerging technologies through its Legal Technology team, helping to enhance legal service delivery, improve efficiency and support better client outcomes.

HopgoodGanim Lawyers Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Graeme Johnson, said technology was playing an increasingly important role in supporting both client service and business performance across the legal sector.

Technology is now inseparable from the delivery of legal services. Firms must continue to invest in technologies that support exceptional client service, strengthen operational performance and enable their people to do their best work."

"We are pleased to welcome Andrew to HopgoodGanim. His experience, strategic perspective and practical approach will help ensure we continue to build a technology capability that supports our long-term ambitions."

Prior to joining HopgoodGanim Lawyers, Andrew held multiple leadership positions over almost eight years with ValueFlow, a leading Asia Pacific technology consultancy specialising in digital transformation, automation and AI.

He also held senior leadership roles with Australia Post and StarTrack, leading technology operations, service transformation and organisational change across large and complex enterprise environments.

Andrew formally commenced as Chief Information Officer on 3 August, following a 10-month engagement with HopgoodGanim Lawyers, initially as a consultant and, more recently, as Interim Chief Information Officer.

Graeme said Andrew's experience with the firm over recent months demonstrated a strong alignment with HopgoodGanim's strategic direction and culture.

Over the past several months, Andrew has worked closely with our leadership team and technology professionals and developed a strong understanding of our business, our people and our strategic priorities."

"His ability to combine technology leadership with operational insight, together with his clear alignment to our strategic objectives, made him the standout choice to lead this function into the future."

Andrew will also work closely with Head of Risk and Compliance, Pardeep Kaur, to maintain the firm's ISO 27001 certification, a globally recognised credential that remains uncommon across the Australian legal sector and reflects HopgoodGanim's commitment to the highest standards of information security.

"It is important that innovation, security and governance remain closely aligned. Andrew's appointment strengthens our ability to take a coordinated approach across these areas, and I am delighted to officially welcome him to the HopgoodGanim team."

Andrew joins HopgoodGanim's growing executive leadership team and is based in the firm's state-of-the-art headquarters on Queen Street in Brisbane.
