Damon King is a Special Counsel in our Workplace and Employment practice with extensive knowledge of industrial and employment law matters.
Damon advises clients, predominantly employers, on the full range of practical and technical issues associated with industrial and employment law, including employment contracts and independent contractor agreements, restraints of trade, disciplinary proceedings, redundancy and unfair dismissal, enterprise bargaining and industrial disputes, discrimination, bullying and harassment claims, managing injured and ill employees, workers’ compensation reviews and appeals, and workplace health and safety.
Damon is a robust advocate and has extensive experience conducting litigation to trial, as well as utilising alternate dispute resolution (conciliation and mediation) to cost-effectively resolve disputes, where appropriate. Damon has a keen interest in and relevant expertise acting for employer clients in respect of regulatory audits and enforcement disputes with the Fair Work Ombudsman.
Damon holds a Master of Labour Relations Law and Bachelor of Laws, and is a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland.
