Catherine is a Partner with more than 25 years’ experience in commercial practice, with a focus on property, banking and finance and local government.
Catherine has acted for major corporate and statutory clients in relation to acquisitions and disposals, property development, project structuring, joint ventures, commercial, retail and residential leasing and taking interests in vested land, property due diligence, complex conveyancing, property rights and land tenure. Catherine also has broad banking and finance experience which extends from providing advice in relation to and documenting finance transactions to forced sales and workouts, insolvency and personal property securities.
Catherine is highly regarded by her peers as a WA property sector expert. She was recommended in Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Property & Real Estate Lawyer – Western Australia, 2019 and 2020, and named in The Best Lawyers™ in Australia every year since 2017 for Real Property Law and Leasing Law. She was also named as Lawyer of the Year – Leasing for 2019 by Best Lawyers™. Catherine is an active member of the Committee for Perth’s Reshaping Working Group which considers the development of proposals around the built environment, places and transport. It comprises a multi-disciplinary group covering planning, design, development, construction, infrastructure and policy. She has also acted as a mentor in the Property Council of Australia’s 500 Women in Property program.
