HopgoodGanim welcomes four new team members
HopgoodGanim Lawyers is very proud to announce the arrival of four new team members including a new Partner in the firm’s Perth office.
Senior litigation and insolvency practitioner Leith Ayres joined the firm as a Partner.
Leith is a highly respected and experienced dispute resolution, insolvency and restructuring practitioner and brings with him in excess of 20 years’ experience.
Restructuring professionals are set for a busy 2018 with the economy presenting a combination of challenging economic conditions for some companies and “greenshoots” growth for others. The recent commencement of ‘safe-harbour’ provisions as a result of amendments to the Corporations Act in 2017 will also start to gain traction.
Leith’s commencement at HopgoodGanim comes at a time when the firm has seen an increase in restructuring activity, general economic activity and changes and challenges in the WA economy.
HopgoodGanim’s Perth team is especially excited in being able to offer Leith’s diverse skillset to their clients.
Leith anticipates significant growth at HopgoodGanim across multiple practice areas, in particular the litigation, insolvency and reconstruction practices.
Prior to joining HopgoodGanim, Leith was a Partner of MinterEllison based in the Perth office.
Leith’s client base has included many of Australia’s large banks and financial institutions and he is a trusted advisor to many large accounting and insolvency practices Australia-wide.
Leith’s commencement at the firm will bring HopgoodGanim’s partner count in Perth to 8 and 43 nationally.
HopgoodGanim’s Partners are excited to welcome Leith.
“Leith comes to us with a fantastic reputation for delivering positive outcomes for clients,” commented Perth’s Partner in Charge, Robyn Ferguson.
“Leith’s extensive experience in insolvency and reconstruction, corporate finance and dispute resolution is a very welcome addition to the firm.”
“The firm’s Partners have admired Leith’s work in the industry and we proudly welcome him to the team.”
Leith will also be joined at HopgoodGanim in Perth by two of his former colleagues in Mark Hyde and Cal Doran. Mark and Cal will also join the firm’s Litigation, Dispute Resolution, Reconstruction and Insolvency practices as senior associate and associate respectively.
Mark has extensive experience acting for major Australian financial institutions. His litigation experience extends to disputes in relation to joint ventures, partnerships and contracts generally.
Cal’s litigation experience is broad and includes the dissolution and restructuring of companies and trusts plus bankruptcies, debt recoveries and the enforcement of securities.
Joining the Brisbane office as a senior associate is Rebecca Dannell.
Rebecca has been practicing for over 10 years and is a highly experienced family lawyer. She has extensive experience with parenting matters, international relocation disputes and complex financial/property settlements. Most recently, Rebecca completed her Masters of Law (Family Law).
