HopgoodGanim Lawyers is pleased to have advised leading Australian heavy earthmoving equipment provider MacKellar Group on its acquisition by North American Construction Group Ltd (NACG) for an estimated consideration of CAD $395 million. NACG is Canada’s largest independent heavy equipment and mining contractor.  The transaction was effectively completed on 1 October 2023.

A cross-disciplinary team led by Tim Scanlan from our Private Enterprise practice advised on the transaction. Tim was supported by key team members from our Banking and Finance, Workplace and Employment and Commercial Property practices.
