New NEM membership

By Richard Gardiner / 10 September 2018

Last week, HopgoodGanim Lawyers became an NEM Ecosystem member.

NEM.io Foundation is a blockchain organisation which has a presence in over 100 cities and 47 countries around the world. NEM is a blockchain engine that enables businesses to apply blockchain technologies on their processes.  The related cryptocurrency of the NEM public blockchain is XEM.

NEM invests in the promotion of blockchain technology through the NEM.io Foundation. The foundation’s ethos is “to provide NEM’s blockchain technology platform to enhance enterprise whilst being run by the people, for the people. NEM’s team provides this through an array of support and education, from training events and service providers to technical support for the ecosystem.” (NEM Foundation website)

NEM has recently set up their first Australian blockchain hub in Brisbane. The NEM hub will educate and inform the general public and businesses about the benefits and applications of blockchain.

I went along to the launch of the Brisbane hub and it was great to see how well supported it was. There were around 250 people at the launch, including representatives of the Queensland Government.

The NEM blockchain hub is based at The Precinct.

I’m excited that HG is a member and I’m looking forward to a collaborative partnership with NEM.

If you are interested in blockchain technology, or would like to speak to a lawyer about blockchain related issues, please get in touch.
