We enjoy longstanding industry relationships including with the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA), the Property Council of Australia (PCA), the Queensland Environmental Law Association (QELA) and the Committee for Brisbane (previously Brisbane Development Association).  Our team members participate in various committees with these industry partners and support the industry to prepare policy papers and submissions on key pieces of legislative reform and policy.

Exceptional outcomes

151 Property / We advised 151 Property (formerly Valad Property Group) in relation to an application to develop land in the heart of Brisbane's CBD at the intersection of the Queen Street Mall and George Street for a landmark mixed use development to be known as No 1 Brisbane.  Our advice provided 151 Property with a successful strategy to secure a development approval in the face of town planning and heritage issues.
Western Australian Local Government / Advising various Western Australia local councils including negotiation with local authorities and landowners in relation to the construction of major works, sealed roads, and easements to allow access to and from private properties over Crown land.
Cbus Property / We advised Cbus Property on the development of a 47 storey high rise mixed use project at 443 Queen Street in Brisbane, adjoining the State and local heritage listed Customs House. The advice involved reviewing all aspects of the development application and representing Cbus in proceedings commenced in the Planning and Environment Court seeking to set aside the project's approval. The proceedings were dismissed with costs awarded to our client.
FKG Group / We advised leading head contractor, the FKG Group in relation to a range of issues concerning the development of the Witmack Industrial Estate which is part of the Charlton Wellcamp Industrial Enterprise Area west of Toowoomba, including the development of a major beef processing facility.
Western Australian commercial land developer / Advising this developer client on the resumption of their land by Main Roads WA.  We also advised on scheme amendments, a structure plan application and environmental impacts relevant to one discrete piece of developable land earmarked as significant vegetation.
Major supermarket chain / We advise one of Australia's major supermarket chains on planning and development issues associated with the rollout of their stores in Queensland, including initial site assessment, the development application process and subsequent appeals in the Planning and Environment Court.  
Redland City Council / We successfully advised Redland City Council in proceedings in the Planning and Environment Court to defend Council’s decision to refuse a residential subdivision in Thornlands and continue to advise the Council in relation to other proposed residential developments in the region. 
State and Local Governments / We provide strategic advice to both state and local Government authorities in relation to compensation negotiations for the resumption of land for significant transport and social infrastructure projects across Queensland.
