Exceptional outcomes

Large Australian coal producer / Advising one of Australia’s biggest coal producers and exporters on land access and native title issues and agreements at multiple sites.
Eco-tourism project / Advising on a major eco-tourism project in Kuranda, North Queensland in relation to tenure history assessment; our client's negotiation strategy; the drafting and finalisation of a cultural heritage management plan; and negotiations with relevant native title groups.
Oil and gas exploration company / Advising a Western Australian onshore gas exploration company on right to negotiate agreements to facilitate the grant of permits in the Perth basin, including representation for the national native title tribunal process.
Water authority / Advising this water authority client on native title in relation to extinguishment by public works, giving our client the ability to use most of its existing water infrastructure without further reference to native title, creating flexibility of tenure administration.
Warra People / Advising on various matters, including registering a native title claim in the Federal Court; advising and assisting the group to negotiate, finalise and enforce native title, access and heritage agreements; lodging objections and submissions to processes contrary to claim group interests; attending native title tribunal case management conferences on behalf of the client; advising on claim group meeting matters and resolutions; and advising on procedural rights in relation to land acquisitions.
Arruwurra Aboriginal Corporation / We act for this Aboriginal company, which owns freehold on access rights, compensation and cultural heritage for the provision of a gas pipeline over the company’s landholdings. With almost no fungible indigenous freehold in the Northern Territory, the decision by the Chair of the corporation’s grandfather to take freehold instead of pursuing a land claim 30 years ago will transform the lives of generations of the families who are members of the corporation.
