HopgoodGanim Lawyers is proud to have advised Queensland-based scaffolding business, Cogent Scaffolding on its acquisition by APS Industrial Services. This transaction represents an important milestone in Cogent’s growth and expands their capability in delivering integrated access solutions across major construction and infrastructure projects.

This acquisition provides Cogent with the backing of a national industrial services group, while maintaining the operational expertise the business has built over more than two decades in the Queensland market.

The HopgoodGanim team was led by Special Counsel Sarah Judge and Associate Grace Baty.

“We’re grateful for the support and guidance of the HopgoodGanim team throughout the process. Their advice helped ensure the transaction supported our people, our clients, and the legacy we’ve built. We’re excited for the next chapter with APS and appreciate the role HopgoodGanim played in helping us get there,” said Dan O’Brien, Director of Cogent Scaffolding.

HopgoodGanim was pleased to work alongside BDO, with Gemma Lynam and Sarah Cassidy from BDO Deal Advisory leading the financial advisory aspects of the transaction.

Cogent’s founders will continue in key leadership roles and retain an ownership interest in the business as it moves into its next phase of growth.

We congratulate Cogent on this significant achievement and look forward to continuing to support them as they strengthen their position in the Australian construction landscape.
