Taxation is one of the most dynamic areas of Australia's business and legislative landscape. The challenge for businesses of all sizes is to not only comply with their tax and reporting obligations, but also proactively implement strategies that will encourage long-term business growth and help them meet their commercial objectives.

Our tax team advises clients on a wide range of strategic taxation issues, including responding to taxation challenges. Our talented practitioners have qualifications and experience in both law and accounting, and are uniquely placed to advise on the best ways to manage the taxation aspects of your business to minimise your costs and risks while maximising opportunities. By getting to know your business inside and out, we can provide tailored, commercially focused tax advice that will help you build a strong and successful business.

We work with emerging businesses in their development stages to advise on effective tax structuring for future success, established businesses that need to fine tune their taxation arrangements, and businesses involved in disputes with revenue authorities.

Our tax experts work closely with our other practice groups to advise on taxation issues as part of larger deals and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, cross-border transactions, and resources and energy projects.

HopgoodGanim Lawyers' Taxation team was named a Third Tier firm in Doyle's Guide to Leading Tax Law Firms - Queensland, 2015, with one of our Partners recently being named in Best Lawyers in Australia, 2018 by the Australian Financial Review.
