Natasha is a senior member of our national Industrial Relations and Employment Law team and leads this practice in Western Australia.  She has over 15 years’ collective experience working in the banking and finance and government sectors, as well as in private practice, including a secondment to the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (now Fair Work Commission).

Prior to joining HopgoodGanim Lawyers, Natasha operated a private consulting business providing specialist advice and representation in workplace law to businesses and individuals alike.  

Specifically, Natasha provides front-end advisory work and conducts litigation on state and federal workplace law, safety, equal opportunity and discrimination law, vocational regulation and privacy.  She is also experienced in freedom of information matters.    

Natasha has strong experience in working across a number of key sectors including transport, energy and resources, technology, government, financial and professional services, construction, property, manufacturing, health and education.  She provides commercially astute advice, practical solutions and negotiates highly effective outcomes for her clients.

Natasha is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia, the Industrial Relations Society, the Australian Human Resources Institute, Women Lawyers of Western Australia and the French Australian Chamber of Commerce. 

Areas of Practice

Natasha joined HopgoodGanim Lawyers in October 2016.  A selection of her experience prior to joining the firm is detailed below.

  • Acting in a group action in the Federal Circuit Court against a global energy company for numerous alleged contraventions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).
  • Acting for an internationally recognised individual in the Federal Circuit Court against a global energy company for alleged contraventions of the general protections regime of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).
  • Providing front-end advisory work to a leading engineering company, whilst drafting employment agreements and policies for its national workforce.
  • Providing front-end advisory work to an awarded company within the construction industry, for both short and long term workplace strategy.
  • Acting for both corporate clients and individuals in equal opportunity and discrimination matters, including sexual harassment, and conducting litigation on these issues.
  • Providing front-end advisory work to countless employers in all sectors listed above, for managing performance and conduct.
  • Providing front-end advisory work to countless employers in all sectors listed above on termination of employment matters, including redundancy.
  • Providing front-end advisory work to corporate clients, for managing ill and injured employees including return to work plans.  
  • Advising and representing individuals in matters involving illness and injury, absence from the workplace and return to work.
  • Providing front-end advice to corporate clients, as to various compliance matters and sham contracting.
  • Providing advice to countless employers and employees as to the initiation of and response to disciplinary proceedings, and workplace investigations.  Conducting internal and external conferences as to these matters.
  • Successfully resolved all matters of vocational regulation, for individuals in various professions.   
  • Acting for both corporate clients and individuals in various matters involving post-termination obligations, including non-competition issues and alleged misuse of confidential information.
  • Acting for both corporate clients and individuals in countless termination of employment matters, including acting as Counsel for Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission arbitration proceedings.
  • Managing access applications under freedom of information laws for federal agencies, providing advice with respect to freedom of information procedure, workplace investigations and privacy laws.
