Tracey advises on the sale and purchase of real estate including tourism and hospitality developments,  residential, commercial and retail developments, retirement living, mixed use real estate projects and land development projects, businesses and rural properties and advises on property and financier due diligence investigations, community title and body corporate law.

Tracey’s expertise includes acting for developers and joint venturers to negotiate and prepare contracts for the acquisition of development sites, and subsequently working closely with her clients and their consultants to structure and document the necessary agreements for the sale of lots to end users.

HopgoodGanim are the advisers to the Coordinator General in its divestment strategy of its landholdings in the Mary Valley, which land is no longer required for the Traveston Dam project.  Tracey oversees the contract preparation, negotiation, settlement and reporting process to the Coordinator General in this divestment process.

Tracey is also the Partner is charge of our Retirement Living practice, and was recommended for her practice advice in the Real Estate Category of the Asia Pacific Legal 500, 2012. Most recently, Tracey became a member of the UDIA (Qld) Annual Developers Conference Committee.  

Areas of Practice

  • Advising the Kyko Group on the development and structuring of the $150 million mixed-use Mon Komo project at Redcliffe, which features 184 apartments in two towers, a hotel, and commercial and retail precincts.
  • Assisting in the development and sale process of Couran Cove Resort, South Stradbroke Island.
  • Representing the seller of the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre at the Gold Coast in the sale of the centre to the State Government.
  • Acting for developers to negotiate and prepare contracts to acquire development sites, and subsequently prepare off-the-plan contracts for the sale of lots (strata or flat land) to buyers.
  • Acting for the developer of The Reserve, a staged strata titled development of 200 apartments at Varsity Lakes, Gold Coast.
  • Advising Brisbane Markets on the acquisition and disposal of residential and commercial properties and rural properties for the acquisition of property for future development.
  • Advising corporate and private clients on the acquisition and disposal of businesses, such as hotels, management rights, shopping centres, retail businesses, child care centres and rural interests including preparing specialty contracts and option agreements.
  • Advising clients in the acquisition and disposal of retirement living facilities.
