Justin advises clients on a broad range of property matters and has acted in the acquisition and disposal of commercial, retail and residential properties. In particular, Justin currently advises a national supermarket client on its development site acquisitions. This involves the purchase of existing sites and the purchase of sites created by way of subdivision, as well as the disposal of sites. 

Justin’s practice also covers commercial leasing arrangements for both retail shopping centre landlords and commercial office building landlords and he has acted on behalf of a number of tenants in Queensland and nationally. Justin has a particular interest in retail shop leasing.

Justin is an active member of relevant industry associations and is a member of the UDIA (Qld) Property Law and Community Management Committee. Justin holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the Queensland University of Technology.

Areas of Practice

  • Advising South Bank Corporation on the preparation, negotiation and registration of leases for South Bank Corporation assets, including for the Little Stanley Street, South Bank Parklands and Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre precincts.
  • Assisting with acting for Aria Property Group in acquiring development sites.
  • Advising the property management team for an interstate-based private property owner on the preparation, negotiation and registration of leases for MarketPlace Warner Shopping Centre and assisting with acting for the property owner in the subsequent sale of the Centre.
  • Advising Sekisui House Australia on the preparation, negotiation and registration of leases for Ripley Town Centre to form part of the client’s new Ecco Ripley development.
  • Assisting with acting for Primewest Funds Ltd in the purchase of Morayfield Homestyle Homemaker Centre.
  • Acting on behalf of The Coffee Club in relation to the leasing of stores in Queensland and in Victoria.
