27 February 2012

HopgoodGanim has been recognised by international legal directory Chambers Asia-Pacific for its expertise in energy and natural resources, environment law and native title.

Partner Jonathan Fulcher has been named one of Australia's leading native title lawyers (Band 1) for the sixth consecutive year. Dr Fulcher has practiced in the native title space since the mid-1990s and specialises in negotiating and delivering native title and cultural heritage agreements with indigenous stakeholders.

Resources and Energy practice group head Martin Klapper has been ranked as one of Australia's leading Energy & Natural Resources lawyers. Mr Klapper has more than 20 years of experience and has advised on some of Queensland's most significant mining and public infrastructure projects for both public and private sector organisations.

HopgoodGanim has also been ranked as a leading Environment law firm in the guide. HopgoodGanim's Environment team works closely with the firm's Resources and Energy and Corporate Advisory practice groups to provide environmental due diligence, project advice and compliance advice.

HopgoodGanim's managing partner Bruce Humphrys says he is delighted to see the firm's legal practitioners ranked as amongst the best in Australia.

"Being recognised in directories like Chambers Asia-Pacific and in league tables such as Thomson Reuters - in which the firm was ranked number one for Australian Equity and Equity-related deals based on number of deals during 2011 - shows that our lawyers have the experience, expertise and reputation to compete head-on with those in international and top-tier firms."

Chambers legal directories are recognised as among the most prestigious in the world, and are based on independent, objective research with thousands of lawyers and their clients.
