HopgoodGanim associate wins Young ICT Professional of the Year

25 November 2010

HopgoodGanim associate Hayden Delaney, 27, has been named Young ICT Professional of the Year by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) Queensland.

Hayden was named as the winner of the award from a pool of five finalists at a ceremony held in Brisbane last week.

A member of HopgoodGanim's Intellectual Property and Technology team, Hayden advises on a variety of legal issues related to information and communications technology, including licensing, telecommunications, procurement, contracts and agreements, copyright and privacy.

He has recently been seconded to Indigo Telecom, where he has advised on the commercial and regulatory aspects of Indigo's operations throughout its start-up phase.

According to HopgoodGanim's Managing Partner, Bruce Humphrys, this win is testament to Hayden's exceptional legal skill and passion for the ICT industry.

"Hayden has worked on some of the firm's most complex technology and intellectual property matters.

"His legal ability is equally matched by his technical expertise, largely due to his formal IT qualifications and his first-hand experience in the software industry."

Before joining HopgoodGanim as a trainee solicitor in 2007, Hayden co-developed software for the Queensland Department of Primary Industries, and worked as a researcher at the Queensland University of Technology.

Hayden holds qualifications in Laws and Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology.
