HopgoodGanim announces Ian Hughes as Partner

HopgoodGanim is delighted to announce that senior litigation and dispute resolution specialist, Ian Hughes, will join the partnership of the firm, effective immediately.

Ian began working as a Consultant to HopgoodGanim’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution team in May 2013. His recent appointment to the partnership of HopgoodGanim is recognition of the seniority he holds at the firm and the positive and significant impact Ian has had on the firm and the matters he’s managed in the past year.

HopgoodGanim Managing Partner, Bruce Humphrys says Ian’s appointment reflects the continued success of the firm in an otherwise challenging business climate. “We are so pleased to have Ian join the partnership as he is a significant asset to our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice and highly regarded by both staff and clients. Our firm continues to grow, as recent legal surveys indicate and Ian’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to providing our local and international clients with access to the highest calibre of legal advice.”

Ian is a trusted litigation expert with a career spanning more than 30 years during which time he has handled some of the country’s largest legal battles including multi-million dollar claims on behalf of major international organisations.

Commenting on his decision to join the partnership, Ian said “HopgoodGanim has a well deserved reputation as a great law firm and a place where people love to work. As a partner I look forward to assisting the firm to move to an even higher level of recognition within Australia as well as overseas and to enjoying the unique culture that the firm has maintained for the past 40 years.”

Ian’s appointment to the partnership is in addition to the 11 other promotions made across the firm.  The following promotions took effect from 1 July 2014:

Mr Humphrys commented: “As with last year, I am so pleased that we once again have recognised the efforts of a diverse set of practitioners with a great gender balance, promotions across the two offices, and promoting those both in a full time and part time capacity.

“We stand by our conviction to reward and recognise those who provide outstanding work and uphold our values - we have a strong career development path for our employees.”
