A number of areas of land in Queensland have been made available for petroleum exploration under an Authority to Prospect, with a call for tenders issued for 13 areas.
The land available under PLR 2010-1-1 to 6 includes areas that are located as follows:
- 140 km northeast of Adavale (6075 km2)
- 55 km northeast of Charleville (5250 km2)
- 65 km south-southeast of Charleville(6525 km2)
- 160 km southeast of Charleville (5100 km2)
- 65 km east of Rolleston (2430 km2)
- 25 km east of Moura (2403 km2)
The land available under PLR 2010-2-1 to 7 includes areas that are located as follows:
- Mornington Island (537 km2)
- 70 km southwest of Burketown (6543 km2)
- 75 km northeast of Adavale (6231 km2)
- 80 km northwest of Mitchell (1620 km2)
- 80 km south-southeast of Adavale (6225 km2
- 115 km southeast of Charleville (5376 km2)
- 45 km northwest of Taroom (1050 km2)
The areas available under PLR 2010-2-1 to 7 contain less than 75 percent exclusive possession land and will require native title processes to be completed under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth). A tender for this land must also comply with the Guidelines for Right to Negotiate Submission for Petroleum.
