Joe founded the firm in 1974 with Paul Hopgood and headed our Dispute Resolution and Litigation practice until his retirement from partnership in 2009. He continues to work with the firm as a Consultant.
Joe is a master of his craft and has more than 35 years experience in conducting complex corporate and commercial litigious matters in the jurisdictions of the Supreme Court of Queensland, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia, as well as appearing before various Tribunals and Inquiries.
As an experienced Supreme Court Approved Mediator, Joe has the reputation for implementing dispute management strategies which recognise and achieve commercial and economic outcomes. He is consistently determined to achieve a successful outcome for his clients and his negotiation, tactical and advocacy skills are well regarded by clients and peers alike.
With an unmatched technical competence in the art of dispute resolution, Joe was invited to serve for a number of years as a member of the Litigation Reform Commission Court Administration and Resource Division, which reviewed all facets of court practice and litigation.
Joe has extensive public company Board experience and he is currently the chairman of Eumundi Group Limited.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and is a Notary Public.
