Andrew is an Associate practising exclusively in family law, with a specific interest in disputes relating to parenting issues, matrimonial and de facto property settlements, and child support matters.
Andrew is a second generation solicitor and gained his experience in general practice working as a law clerk for his father’s firm in northern New South Wales. This rural upbringing helps Andrew fully engage with clients from rural backgrounds. He has a deep understanding of the issues faced by these clients when relationships end, including the difficulties associated with intergenerational business and property claims. He is a driving force behind HopgoodGanim’s rural family law team, and as a part of this role, regularly attends and is invited to present at seminars and conferences throughout regional Queensland and New South Wales.
With emotions close to the surface, family law can be a challenging area of practice. Andrew is determined to approach every situation with empathy, practicality and integrity in order to achieve the best possible outcome for his client.
Andrew believes innovation and tenacity are the cornerstones for success. “Every family's situation is different and it’s important to find the right approach to achieve each client's goals. Once a strategy has been identified, it then becomes vital to stay focused on following that strategy through to a successful conclusion."
