HopgoodGanim Lawyers senior associate Michelle Eastwell, 28, has been recognised for her legal achievements in this year’s Queensland Law Society President's Awards, held in Brisbane on Friday evening.
Michelle won the category recognising outstanding achievement by a young lawyer with less than seven years post admission experience.
A member of HopgoodGanim's Corporate Advisory and Governance team, Michelle advises public and private clients on mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, capital raisings, stock exchange listings and joint ventures.
She has led a number of high-value capital raisings, including for Eastern Corporation, Bow Energy, FSA Group, D’Aguilar Gold and Techniche. She has been a key advisor on Bow Energy’s current capital raising of up to $77 million, and also recently advised Stanmore Coal on its IPO and listing on the ASX.
Michelle was nominated for the award by the partners of HopgoodGanim due to her strong commitment to her clients and the firm, and her outstanding success advising clients on large-scale corporate transactions.
Michelle was admitted to practice in 2005 and was promoted to the position of senior associate at HopgoodGanim with just 2.5 years post admission experience. According to Managing Partner Bruce Humphrys, Michelle’s quick rise through the ranks is testament to her exceptional legal skills and her outstanding contribution to the firm.

Michelle joined HopgoodGanim as an Assistant Law Librarian in 1999 and continued working with the firm while studying law and commerce at Griffith University. She was Griffith’s University Medallist, Law Medallist and Law School Valedictorian in 2003.
