HopgoodGanim advises Indigo on national mobile distribution deal

  20-Jul-2011

Indigo Telecom has reached a deal with Australia Post to distribute Indigo's mobile phones and plans through Australia Post's retail outlets nationally.

Indigo Telecom's next generation mobile GSM/satellite phones and service plans will be available through Australia Post retail outlets, ensuring accessibility for over one million people throughout remote regions of Australia. The deal will see the postal outlets become a one-stop-shop for Indigo's mobile services.

HopgoodGanim Associate Hayden Delaney acted as counsel and settled the legal and commercial aspects of the agreement on behalf of Indigo Telecom. He stated, "I am delighted with the result of this deal between Indigo Telecom and Australia Post. This partnership between innovative, high-quality service providers will deliver a vast mobile services retail network and ensure 100% coverage across Australia."

Indigo Managing Director and CEO, David Ruddiman, said, "The work done by our outstanding legal team effectively puts an end to the isolation felt by many in the bush in so far as convenient, reliable and cheaper access to retail mobile services is concerned."

Indigo Telecom is Australia's only telecommunications carrier solely dedicated to delivering voice and data solutions to remote and regional areas across Australia. They operate a state-of-the-art multi-billion dollar hybrid communications network that provides 100% geographic mobile voice and data communications across Australia and out to sea.
