HopgoodGanim Special Counsel Named Leading Lawyer

  17-Mar-2010

HopgoodGanim Lawyers Special Counsel Jonathan Fulcher has been named as one of Australia’s leading native title lawyers by Chambers Global for the fourth consecutive year.

Dr Fulcher specialises in negotiating and delivering native title and cultural heritage agreements with indigenous stakeholders, particularly for the resources and energy sector. He has practiced native title law since the mid-1990s and has more recently developed a practice in resources and energy law generally.

According to HopgoodGanim’s Managing Partner, Bruce Humphrys, Dr Fulcher is highly regarded as a native title lawyer because of his ability to strike a balance between the commercial and cultural drivers in native title and cultural heritage negotiations.

“Dr Fulcher’s ranking in the top band of Australian native title lawyers in Chambers Global is no surprise. He is well-regarded by both his peers and clients for his professionalism and comprehensive knowledge of native title legislation and practice.”

Dr Fulcher has authored numerous publications that have shaped Australia’s native title landscape and recently updated the Cultural Heritage chapters for Halsbury's Laws of Australia 2009/2010. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Griffith University, where he teaches native title.

Chambers legal directories are based on independent, objective research with thousands of lawyers and their clients around the world.
