Areas of Expertise
HopgoodGanim has a large Commercial Property team, with sub-sector specialists in the areas of manufactured homes, retirement villages, student accommodation, hospitality and tourism, high-rise residential, industrial, retail and marinas. We have been the lead adviser on many of Queensland's most significant and high profile property developments.
We develop solutions and achieve results for a range of clients. We have advised in relation to the acquisition and sale of commercial, residential and crown leasehold properties; community title developments; taxation and stamp duty; due diligence investigations; project funding; joint ventures; litigation; planning and environment; resumptions and construction arrangements.
Green development
Awareness and consideration of environmental sustainability in property development is critical in today's climate. ‘Green' development is here to stay, and HopgoodGanim has invested heavily in building substantial knowledge in the areas of climate change and the development and accreditation of green property.
We are a long-term supporter of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Queensland) and are the exclusive legal sponsor of their technical standard for EnviroDevelopment, Australia's only comprehensive sustainability rating tool for commercial, industrial and residential development projects.
One of our practitioners, Angie Coleman, has been accredited by the Green Building Council of Australia as a Green Star Associate. In addition, our experience means we are well placed to advise on the legal implications of the NABERS system, which rates buildings on their operational impact on the environment.
