The regulatory landscape for environmental management in Queensland is complex and constantly shifting. From recently announced reform to the Federal Government's Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act 1999), to the continued rollout of State environment policy, including recent developments in coastal management, the implications for infrastructure providers and players in the resources, energy and mining sectors are many and varied.
In this seminar, HopgoodGanim specialists from our planning, development, environment, resources and energy practice areas looked at key environmental regulation and implications for infrastructure and resources, energy and mining projects.
This seminar provided an insight into the following topics:
- An overview of recently announced reforms to the Federal Government's central piece of environmental legislation, the EPBC Act 1999
- The impact of environmental regulation, including coastal management, on infrastructure roll out
- Environmental issues particular to the coal seam gas industry
This seminar was attended by those in the Coal Seam Gas, resources, energy and mining sectors, town planners, planning consultants, government representatives and staff from GOCs.
